President Bush's proposed budget would cut funding to many farming programs. Local farmers say that's no good.

Clover Hill dairy farmer George Rohrer is worried about the environmental aspects of the farming cuts. George says he does his best to maintain the quality of the water on his farm by avoiding run off. But a cut in funding would mean farmers would have less resources to ensure that their water is clean.

"Guys I know the budget is tight; I know we are in a huge federal deficit, but look long and hard at the ramifications of cutting particularly of cutting the environmental aspect of farm programs," says Rohrer.

The Agricultural Committee will hold hearings to hear farmers concerns.
