The Division II NCAA champion JMU Dukes were in Richmond Thursday to be honored by lawmakers.

The players filed into the governor's mansion for a meet and greet with Governor Mark Warner. The Duke's National Championship trophy was on display as well.

Coaches and players had pictures taken with the Governor and presented him with a JMU uniform -- complete with the name "Warner" stitched on the back. The Governor says the Dukes made Virginia proud.

"You should all be extraordinarily proud of yourselves. I'm very proud of the coach, I'm proud of the university. JMU is not only a great place to go to school but clearly one of the rising universities in Virginia," said Warner.

The team was also honored by the House of Delegates and the Senate.
