Go somewhere else, that’s what local businesses are saying to a growing number of loiters in the Staunton downtown district, "We ain't bothering anybody on this corner, or nothing like that-you know?" commented Drew Breckenridge, a loitering citizen for over 20 years. “I am just passing the day.”

Staunton Store owners don't see hanging out the same way Breckenridge does. In fact, they say the increasing number of loiters is driving away business.

Since there is no state law in Virginia forbidding loitering, folks like Drew will continue to pass the day on the streets of downtown Staunton. "I love this place!" commented Breckenridge.
