Job
VF Jeanswear, the company which makes Wrangler Jeans, has announced two local plant closings.
The company will close a manufacturing facility in Luray and a sewing plant in Woodstock. There are 370 people that work at the plant in Luray, 270 in Woodstock.
Employees came in Thursday morning and were told that by the end of January they wouldn't have a job. A spokesman says the cuts are necessary for VF Jeanswear to remain competitive in the industry.
The company says the employees will get severance packages and help finding new jobs.
Plants in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas are also being closed.
