An early morning chase landed a Charlottesville man in jail and left a golf course picking up the pieces.
Just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning, Virginia State Police started chasing a speeding truck up Interstate 81.
Forty-one-year-old John Via got off the interstate at New Market, and ended up driving through the Shenvalee Golf Course before he was caught.
Authorities say Via is wanted on four felony warrants in Fluvanna County, in addition to charges related to this pursuit.
Damage to the golf course is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $5,000.
