It has been whispered for the past couple of weeks, but now its been confirmed. Merck in Elkton will soon layoff a number of employees from its Stonewall Division. By the end of March, thirty to forty people will be out of a job. Merck says it's due to the changing of production requirements at the Stonewall plant in Elkton. They say that some of the reductions will be due to retirement. This comes as Merck is set to invest $40 million in the Stonewall Plant.
