Virginia's next Governor will be inaugurated at colonial Williamsburg. The general assembly is in charge of the inauguration. Yesterday, the Virginia senate agreed to move next January's ceremony. The House of Delegates has already approved the resolution.
Only Patrick Henry in 1776 and Thomas Jefferson in 1779 were inaugurated in Williamsburg. But with the capitol grounds torn up for a renovation, legislators decided to move the ceremony to Virginia's former capital.
