Students around the Valley showed that a tornado won't get them twisted, after participating in a state-wide tornado drill on Tuesday.

"The kids know the drills are for safety. That's one of the things we really work on here at Waterman, so preparation is key," said Principal Gary Painter of Waterman Elementary School in Harrisonburg.

The drill is part of Tornado Preparedness Day in the Commonwealth, and Governor Mark Warner said all schools and businesses should participate.

"Once they've done the drill they're very, very comfortable. We've done fire drills every month," said Painter.
