It's only been a week, but parents of Stuarts Draft middle schoolers already feel their kids are safer.
That's thanks to the new traffic light at the intersection of Route 340 and School Boulevard.
Parents have been pushing for a light at this intersection for a long time, saying it had become extremely dangerous.
Augusta County bus drivers are singing the light's praises today, saying it makes the ride much safer for students.
"Now we can go straight in front of the school, take School Blvd. and take that light. It was a nightmare getting out and taking Augusta Farms Road," said Samuel Phillips, and Augusta County bus driver.
