Many Valley residents went to church services on Easter Sunday, but one service wasn't what you would call traditional.

The Easter Brothers celebrated by playing bluegrass gospel at the Grubert Avenue Church of God.

The North Carolina-based group has been playing Christian music for more than fifty years.

But why bring bluegrass gospel music into a church on Easter Sunday?

Wayne Collier, the church's pastor, says music is a way for anyone to embrace the meaning of Christianity.

"It's simple that a child can understand it and most of the time it really tells a story of the foundation of the Christian experience that we have in God," the pastor said.

The Brothers' next performance in the Valley is scheduled to happen May 13th at Stuarts Draft high school.
