On Wednesday, members of Staunton City Council will make the three hour trip to Portsmouth for a special "fact-finding" mission.
The council wants to find out how Portsmouth revitalized a hotel similar to Staunton's Stonewall Jackson.
Mayor John Avoli says the trip will teach them the rights and wrongs of effectively renovating such a large and visible structure.
"Portsmouth has done the project and done it right," commented the Mayor, "and so we want to learn from their successes and mistakes.”
