He was one of the candidate's who had his eye on Waynesboro's former empty council seat. And now he'll be spending some time in court.
Scott Coleman, vice chairman of Waynesboro's planning commission, was released from the Charlottesville jail on bond.
He was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
Saturday night a park ranger pulled over Coleman on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
And this isn't his first offense; Waynesboro Court records show a DUI arrest in two thousand and one.
Coleman heads to Federal District Court in Charlottesville for the current charges on May 12.
