Could giving students at one Valley school a new place to run and play sports break the bank?
Waynesboro School's budget sets aside one million dollars to create new athletic facilities at the high school.
But Thursday, bids came in half a million dollars over that.
Architects involved in the project say they aren't surprised.
They submitted plans that include extras that aren't absolutely necessary, like a concession stand and extra landscaping.
School Superintendent Lowell Lemons is taking another look at the plans.
