The House of Delegates passed a bill to ban illegal immigrants from attending public colleges and universities.

Republican Delegate Christopher Peace's bill passed 73-26 on Monday and now heads to the Democrat-controlled Senate, where efforts to crack down on illegal immigrants rarely succeed.

Supporters said illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to attend a higher education institution supported by tax dollars. They argued that the student still could attend a private college.

While not all of Virginia's 15 public universities and 23 community colleges check students' legal status, they all charge those known to be undocumented out-of-state tuition.

A proposal to allow in-state tuition for some illegal immigrants is expected to be debated in the Senate this week.

The illegals should not be permitted to attend any publicly funded education institutions or have access to any tax funded services. Bush and his illegal croonie group have turned a blind eye to this invasion. Illegals should be turned away from all education institutions.

They should be banned out of our entire country.

A good law to prevent invaders from going to college is needed. I hope that the will of good Americans will be followed. No invader deserves in state tuition. Why is the senate even debating a law that goes against the will of good Americans. They need to make it possible for Americans to go to college not invaders. These invaders are criminals by being here. If they want college let them go to school in Mexico. IF they do not like how things are around here they can go back to Mexico
