Police in Memphis, Tennessee, say a suspected gunman is in custody following the shooting of a student inside a high school.

Police say the injured student had at least two gunshot wounds and is believed to be in critical condition.

A school district spokeswoman says the school was placed on lockdown and parents were notified of the incident by the district's automated phone alert system.

No information has been released about the suspect.

The shooting is the second in a Memphis high school this month. On February 4, a 16-year-old student was shot in the leg inside a classroom during an argument with another student over music. The student suffered non-critical injuries.
