Representative Bob Goodlatte stopped in on the JMU College Republicans Monday night.

Goodlatte spoke at the group's weekly meeting, discussing current issues facing Congress and ways that students can get involved in the upcoming elections. He urged students to pay close attention to the issues.

Goodlatte also spoke about the importance of government spending, the War in Iraq, and his support for the candidate he feels will eventually win the Republican nomination.

"He's somebody who I think is very strong on defense, national security and foreign policy issues, but he's also somebody that I've just disagreed with time and time again, and I don't always know where John McCain going to come down on an issue," says Goodlatte.

The Goodlatte campaign didn't come empty-handed. He presented the College Republicans with a check for $300 he hopes will goes towards building a stronger group, even if that means buying pizza.
