Staunton resident Colton Berry was eliminated from American Idol Thursday night in the first elimination round since the show picked its top 24 for this season.

Judge Simon Cowell said that Colton's performance Tuesday night was a complete waste of his precious time.

However, the other judges said Thursday that Colton should still pursue a singing career.

Berry attends Wilson Memorial High School.

Simon should be booted from American Idol. He's a waste of precious space. Don't let him get you down, Colton. You did well and who the heck is Simon anyway to tell you anything? We know what everyone thinks of him! Keep on!

I think you could have used a different title for this feature on your webpage. "Berry Booted" may have a play on the "b's" and grasp one's attention, but it sounds very disrespectful of our Valley residents and their efforts to be successful. Simon was cruel enough. Let's be kind.
