Two sheriff's offices in the Valley are investigating a string of stolen vehicles that they believe are connected.

The first vehicle was stolen early last week. A Nissan Pathfinder was taken from Twin Auto Sales on South Main Street in Harrisonburg. Then, two days later, it was found abandoned in Strasburg, 50 miles away.

However, that was not the only stolen car found in Shenandoah County last week. A Chevrolet Impala was reported stolen from a home on Lee-Rae court in Strasburg on Valentine's Day. It was also found abandoned in Strasburg later that day.

Then, just a couple hours after that vehicle was found, a Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from Strasburg. It was recovered the next day in New Market.

The Shenandoah County Sheriff's office suspects that the same two men are involved in all three cases.

The Augusta County Sheriff's office is reporting nearly $12,000 worth of stolen car parts. Seventeen catalytic converters, which are part of the exhaust system, were taken from vehicles at Staunton Hyundai last Thursday night.

In Rockingham County, the sheriff's office reports that jewelry and cash worth more than $3,600 was stolen last week. It was taken from a home on Tiger Camp Road, in Port Republic.

Staunton Police report a suspicious fire at Staunton Foods on Morris Mill Road. Police say the cab of one of the company's trucks was found set on fire early Tuesday morning. A dumpster on the property was found set on fire two days before that.

If you have any information about these investigations, you are encouraged to call your local police department or sheriff's office.
