W.Va. Man Charged with Producing Child Porn

A 79-year-old Charleston man accused of traveling across state lines to sexually abuse a child in Missouri has been indicted in West Virginia on child pornography charges.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says a grand jury in Beckley charged Jack Gravenmier with two counts of producing material involving three minors he induced to perform sex acts between 2002 and 2003.

The indictment issued Tuesday also charges him with possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.

Prosecutors are seeking the forfeiture of Gravenmier's house and a van allegedly used in the crimes.

He faces 70 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if convicted.

In February, the FBI arrested Gravenmier at a St. Louis hotel.

Authorities said he'd abused a 14-year-old Georgia boy last summer and was planning a second assault attempt.
