State authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man wanted for a parole violation.
Three Winchester Police officers are on paid administrative leave as authorities try to figure out how a man wanted for parole violations ended up dead.
The shooting victim’s name had not been released, but Winchester authorities said they stopped the man for a suspected parole violation.
The man took off on foot, with police in chase. The eventually brandished a firearm, when he was shoot by Winchester Police.
As of Monday evening, three Winchester Police officers were placed on administrative leave as State Police investigate the situation.
The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
