AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va --- Three charges are against Brian David Rose.

The charges say that he stole at least several-hundred dollars by “false pretenses.” The indictments state that he committed these felonies from Jan. 2009 to Nov. 2010, a span of about two years. During that time he served as a deputy at the Augusta County Sheriff's Office.

A WHSV reporter reached out to the sheriff today but got no response.

Virginia State Police are investigating the case, and they said they cannot release any other details at this point.

Rose has not been arrested.

The Waynesboro Commonwealth's Attorney is prosecuting the case.

Rose is expected to make an appearance in Augusta County Circuit Court on Aug. 13.
