Virginia State Police spent part of the day Sunday at the VDOT Memorial in Afton, investigating a suspicious package that was sitting on the rock wall there.
The package was wrapped in duct tape and said "Not Trash". Citizens reported it as suspicious and policed investigated to ensure it was not a threat.
The scene was later cleared and police determined it was part of a Geo-caching game.
Geo-caching is a game where people use GPS coordinates and leave items for others to find, similar to a scavenger hunt.
Police ask that you properly label those packages if you are participating in the game.
