Two of four Virginia men charged with taking part in a cockfighting ring in Page County have pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Fifty-two-year-old Dale Edward Moreland of Winchester and 49-year-old Luis Aguirre Martinez of Manassas entered guilty pleas Monday in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg to one count of conspiracy and one count of money laundering conspiracy.

Federal prosecutors allege that Moreland was in charge of collecting bets and entry fees, matching roosters for fights and handing out winnings at the cockfighting venue known as Little Boxwood.

Federal agents raided the cockfighting venue last May. Two other men charged in the case still face trial.
