A Morgantown man has been convicted of 25 charges stemming from a wreck that killed five people and injured seven others.

A Monongalia County Circuit Court jury deliberated about two hours Friday before finding 33-year-old Brian Stone guilty.

The charges include five counts of driving under the influence causing death, seven counts of DUI with injury, five counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, seven counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, and one DUI count.

Police say Stone's pickup truck rear-ended a car on Interstate 68 near Morgantown in July. The car then crossed the median and hit another vehicle head-on.

Killed in the crash were 30-year-old Courtney Evans of Baltimore; his 12-year-old son, Sawyer; 52-year-old Donnell Perry, 52, of Clarksburg; and Perry's daughters, 15-year-old Jentil and 13-year-old Jacquesha.

Stone testified Thursday that a tire blowout caused the accident. He faces more than 80 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
