We're learning more about the man who died in a crash early Monday morning on Route 33 in Rockingham County.
William Charlton was 65 years old when he died. Many people also called him 'Bill.'
He worked with Dynamic Aviation for several years. The company says he was well-liked, had a great heart and was a kind spirit.
Keith McDonaldson is a family friend of Charlton. He says Charlton was good friends with his father.
McDonaldson says he just finished fixing up a couple of Charlton's trucks at his auto body shop.
He says he was a nice man who always had a big smile.
"You couldn't ask for a better customer, but he was also a family friend," said McDonaldson. "I've known him all my life, I can remember ever since I grew up. He's even come up to the track to watch my boys race with my dad."
McDonaldson says Charlton has served in the armed forces. More recently he says he was the head of police at the Bridgewater Airport.
