WAYNESBORO, Va -- On September 10, 2012 a Waynesboro grand jury indicted John Williamson Clark II on 21 additional charges of sex crimes involving female children.
An ongoing investigation by the Waynesboro Police Department that began in March 2012 identified three additional victims along with the original victim (that full story here: Waynesboro Man Arrested for Sexual Assault). That investigation resulted in the additional charges that spanned a twenty-two year period ending in the late 1990s.
Clark, 66 years old, is facing a total of 23 charges. The charges are below by victim:
Original victim: aggravated sexual battery, sodomy and count rape
Victim 2: indecent liberties with children and animate object sexual penetration
Victim 3: aggravated sexual battery
Victim 4: indecent liberties with children, rape, carnal knowledge of 13 to 15 year child, sodomy and animate object sexual penetration
Waynesboro Police detectives arrested Clark on the additional charges at his residence shortly after the indictments were returned. He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail and is scheduled to appear in Waynesboro Circuit Court on September 19, 2012 for a bond hearing.
Clark could face life imprisonment if convicted on all or just some of the charges.
