Waynesboro's Municipal Building has a new look after a multi-million dollar upgrade.
Ground was broken in the fall of 2001 for the 15,800 square foot addition to the current municipal building on Wayne Ave. The new building will be the home of courtrooms, a new police station and conference rooms.
The project cost more than $4,500,000. City officials say the new upgrades make for a safer environment.
"Previously we had populations mixing in the halls," said Assistant City Manager Mike Hamp, "with the additional space we can separate for public safety reasons."
