The suspects took the keys to the victim's car, and while the students were walking away, Binsted was fatally shot in the back.

Police say the suspects fled in the vehicle described as a navy blue Honda Accord with Virginia tags, PHA 787.

Binsted was a sophomore at VCU.

I knew Tyler to be a bright, engaging, handsome, gregarious, and caring young man. Who helped take his soccer team to state two years ago (he was a major reason they went). He spent a lot of time here at the house with his good friend Matt. He, his bother and Matt were always a blessing to have around the house, no matter where they were you could hear them laughing. All three with quick wit you had to always be on your guard to keep up with jesting. Diana and I spent time with the family yesterday and I can not fathom the hurt and loss they are feeling because of this senseless act. His memory will stand and so will the pain!! Folks tell your kids you love them every chance you get!!!

It's sickening. We need help, we need luck. Our society is falling apart more and more. I didn't know this young fellow, but my heart aches for him, his family, his loved ones, and those who are left. The most disturbing is that the suspects are alive, and even if they are jailed, they will get out someday, and still have their self induced miserable lives. Something has got to be done!! God bless you, Tyler! God bless your loved ones as well!
