The fire in George Washington National Forest is still burning as crews continue working to contain it Thursday. No homes are currently endangered.
It currently is covering about 1,300 acres and is ten percent contained. About 80 personnel are on the scene to build fire lines and burnouts.
All trails in the St. Mary's Wilderness Area are closed until further notice and the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed from Route 56 to Love Gap.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews continue to battle winds and dry weather conditions while trying to control the fire.
