Slade Allen Woodson's initial charges stem from some incidents that happened early Thursday morning in Waynesboro. Police say Woodson fired bullets at the Dupont Community Credit Union, and then at a house on North Commerce Avenue.

Some people who know Woodson say they have no idea why he would shoot at the bank, but they say he did know the person on Commerce Avenue, a house that now sports two bullets holes near a window, and he's caused some trouble there before.

"I think he started out a good kid, but has he got a little bit older he started to get in a little bit of trouble," says Clay Frazier, who knows Woodson.

Now, 19-year-old Woodson of Afton, Virginia is being charged with one felony of count of shooting into an occupied building and one felony count for destruction of property.

"I know he wasn't supposed to be around that house they had told him not to come around," says Frazier. "Since he stole that vehicle last year, and one of his guys was involved in it, they just didn't want the trouble."

Police charged Woodson with shooting at the Dupont bank early Thursday morning, leaving bullet holes in the building's exterior. In the bank's surveillance cameras, police spotted a vehicle that looks very similar to Woodson's 1974 orange Gremlin.

Police say that vehicle was found along Route 29 in Albermarle County, and they took ballistic evidence from it back to the lab. Along with police, neighbors and people who know Woodson say they don't know if he had a motive.

"No, I have no idea why he'd do something like that," says Frazier.

No one was injured at the residence or the bank in the shootings.
