For parents with kids who have disabilities, help is on the way.
The Association For Retarded Citizens or ARC wants to put together a parent resource center in their new home at the Simms Center in Harrisonburg. It would serve as a library for parents to check out material specifically geared towards raising a child with a mental or physical disability. The state has agreed to start them off with 75-hundred dollars. But more is needed to pull it off. They plan to have it up and running by early fall.
