Sixty-three current and former Frederick County Deputies are trying to get money, they say, they were never paid from the county.

Wednesday night, at the Frederick County Board of Supervisors meeting, leaders adopted a resolution to try to settle the claim.

They offered the deputies a total of $73,000 to make up for that alleged missing pay.

The attorney representing the deputies says, a more appropriate number would be more than $200,000 and this case isn't over.

Tim Bosson, an attorney representing the deputies, shared, "I have to say this is maddening. The deputies deserve to be paid. Most of these hours were overtime hours, meaning they were working late at night or early in the morning - not on their regular shift. The county has just decided even though, legally, they have to pay this money as overtime, they're just not going to do it."

He also says they plan to continue fighting for more money in court. The money they're fighting for covers three years of work.
Next week there will be depositions with the sheriff's office and the county.There will be a court hearing next month to decide if the county has to stay in the case.
