Medical students at the National College of Business and Technology held a day long yard sale in their parking lot. All proceeds are going to some members of the New Covenant Fellowship in Elkton. They're heading to New Orleans in a few months to help flood victims from Hurricane Katrina. The students say they want to go beyond putting a bandaid on the wound; they want to take care of emotional and mental needs.
"We noticed today everyone saying how hot it is and the students are saying just imagine how hot it was for two weeks while they waited for help no water stranded, you know we can take a day of heat while we do this work," said Leelee Breeden, National College of Business and Technology, Director of Health Care Education Program.
Today's event raised an even thousand dollars.
