A Crozet man who confronted state police with a gun at his home last week has been identified as Edgar Dawson.

Dawson was in his home at Yonder Hill Farm when police served a warrant to arrest Slade Allen Woodson, who is charged in the shootings on Interstate 64 and in Waynesboro last week.

The News Leader reported Wednesday that police say as they went inside the home, they found Dawson armed with a handgun.

Albemarle County Police Officer M.J. Easton shot Dawson in both arms and the chest.

Dawson is still in the hospital recovering from his wounds and has not been charged.
