After a huge public outcry, the Rockingham County Board of supervisors says it has a new place in mind for a much needed communications tower. The board had wanted to put the tower on the Lacey Springs Elementary School grounds. They now are looking at putting it on property owned by J.C. Neff a few miles away from the elementary school. County officials say they have negotiated a good rate. They also say they have received assurances that other companies will also locate on to the county. This would bring in extra funds to the county.
