Harrisonburg High School head coach Tim Sarver sticks with what he said in an affidavit released Wednesday in that if players on his team were selling drugs, he didn't know about it.

According to the affidavit, Sarver first heard rumors of drug dealing on his team more than a year ago. However, he told police that when he confronted Ronnell Brandon about those rumors, Brandon denied any involvement.

The affidavit also says Brandon denied any involvement or knowledge to one of Sarver's assistants on two separate occasions.

While Sarver declined to comment on camera, he did say, "If there were kids doing drugs and we knew about it, they wouldn't be playing."

Both the athletic director and the superintendent declined to comment Wednesday due to the ongoing nature of the case.

Hey "Dwight Schrute", I think she makes perfect sense. I may not agree with her that sports are failing and should be abolished, but Sarver admitted to knowing about the robbery didn't he??? He also said he heard rumors on several occasions and had anonymous mail saying players were using drugs didn't he??? So he says he confronted the player(s) and they said they did not do it, so then of course they did not do it right. With the logic of your thinking, then we should just get rid of the whole justice system in this country because all we have to do is ask the accused if they did it and if they say no, then thats the end of it, right. I have a feeling if thats the way things happened, our jails would be empty. Think about it !! Wake up !! What Sarver was supposed to do is not brush it off. Report it to the administration and or police. Would your feelings change about the coaches actions if the rumors were about a student carring an assault rifle or pistol in the school?

Oh please, the powers that be at HHS have been sweeping things under the carpet for years. It's time that they take some responsibility for their lack of conduct and make HHS the high school that it use to be. After reading these and other stories about HHS, I'm ashamed to call it my high school.
