A Fishersville congregation is breaking ground on a long awaited project this weekend. Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church is getting a $2.5 million facelift.
Their sanctuary is more than 160 years old. The church is planning to renovate and expand the space. The project will also add new rooms for Sunday school and music ministry.
"This is an enormous event for a historic church to have a major building project and to really be looking forward to the future," says Pastor Jason Whitener.
Money for the project is coming from church members. They're hoping to finish the renovation by next summer.
