Prosecutors in the Interstate 64 shooting case are asking for a 16-year-old defendant to be charged as an adult.
Police have not released the name of the boy. An April 23 hearing is scheduled on the prosecution request.
The teenager faces 15 felony counts in connection with the March 27 shootings along I-64 west of Charlottesville.
Police say he accompanied a 19-year-old Afton man, Slade Allen Woodson, during early morning shootings that closed the highway for hours. The shooters' potshots hit six vehicles and left two motorists with minor injuries.
Woodson faces two additional felony charges connected with shootings.
