A man is in the hospital on Saturday after crashing his car into a tree.
It happened around 5 p.m. in Port Republic.
The Grottoes Fire Squad said the man lost control after leaving a friend's driveway.
His friend's house is on South East Highway.
They said they think the man may have had a medical emergency before crashing into one of these trees.
A helicopter took him to the University of Virginia Medical Center.
His name was not released. His condition is unknown.
