While the West Virginia Public Service Commission seeks more time to review a proposed settlement regarding a $1.3 billion multi state power line, business leaders are pushing its economic benefits.
At an energy forum Friday in Charleston, speakers said a proposed 500-kilovolt, 240-mile power line between Pennsylvania and Virginia would create jobs and help meet increasing customer demands.
The speakers included representatives of the West Virginia Coal Association and the West Virginia University Bureau for Business & Economic Research, among others.
The PSC wants until at least August 2 to review the proposed settlement Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line Co. reached with the PSC's Consumer Advocate Division and staff, and a coalition of energy-consuming companies.
