Petition Hearing Postponed Save Email Print

A hearing on the petition to remove Harrisonburg City Treasurer Rebecca Neal from office that was scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.

Judge James Lane has granted a continuance for the hearing until June 12.

The court is now addressing issues concerning the validity of the petition.

In the mean time she continues to collect her $80,000 plus salary... one of the highest among city employees. Yes, I know she was elected, which I feel should hold her accountable to the public. I'll bet if a secretary in another City department, making 20,000 - 25,000 a year, did the same thing they would be fired immediately.
