University of Richmond officials say the school is still on lockdown Tuesday night after a person was seen who may have been carrying a weapon.

Around 2:45 p.m., a suspicious person wearing a holster containing a handgun of some kind was seen in Boatwright Library.

When he was first seen, he was described as wearing a fake beard and a brown jacket with "Sheriff" across the back. He was carrying an Army-style duffel bag.

He was later seen removing the beard and jacket. However, officials are not sure if the gun was real or not, but the man did not threaten anyone.

Police have asked all students, faculty, staff and visitors on campus to stay in a locked, secure location until they receive further instructions. They believe the suspect has left the library and they are searching the rest of the campus.

School officials say most of the students are not on campus at this time as classes ended last week.
