Fairfax County police say the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a high school student near Falls Church has been arrested in the District of Columbia.
Police say 21-year-old Joshua Puryear was arrested Monday in Southeast Washington. He is charged with murder in the death of 18-year-old Harbi Adam, a senior at J.E.B. Stuart High School.
Adam was one of two people found stabbed about 4 a.m. April 27 in the 3700 block of Powell Lane. Police believe the victims were stabbed during a fight that involved at least a dozen people.
The second victim remains hospitalized. Police say the fight was not gang-related.
