It's that time of year when the signs for yard sales proliferate.

The ARC of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County held their annual yard sale Friday at the Lucy Simms Center.

Books, clothing, knick-knacks, even a whole kitchen sink can be found there.

Proceeds will go towards building and future program expenses.

Carol Hart, ARC Op Shop, says, "We are working on raising the down payment for a new van. We need it for gas money because gas prices have gone up and if we're going to the op shop clients on trips, field trips, places out in the community where they volunteer, gas prices have gone up so we're going to use some of the money for that too."

The sale continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
