Rescue workers say an accident happened at Shenandoah Speedway Saturday night when one of the race car drivers hit a wall.

Dave Pecko's car rolled, and then a drive shaft spindle went through his right leg.

He was airlifted to UVA where he is currently listed in stable condition as of Monday.

He came to the Valley from Pennsylvania.
