The American Red Cross says it might relocate some employees from its downtown Washington headquarters to a satellite office in northern Virginia to generate revenue.

The disaster relief agency has an emergency office building at an undisclosed location in Loudoun County near Dulles International Airport to be used if there's an attack on Washington.

Spokeswoman Laura Howe says that under the plan, some headquarters staff would move to Loudoun, opening office space at the D.C. headquarters for rental to commercial tenants.

Howe cautions that a final decision hasn't been made. She also says officials haven't determined how many people would be able to work in the Loudoun building.
