A group pushing for changes at West Virginia University says the faculty provided a blueprint to return the school to respectability in the wake of a master's degree scandal involving the governor's daughter.

Mike Perone, vice chairman of Mountaineers for Integrity and Responsibility, says the faculty's voice is getting louder and he hopes President Mike Garrison will listen.

Wednesday, faculty members approved a resolution demanding that Garrison resign.

The faculty also called for a re-evaluation of the Board of Governors' composition and proposed the creation of an external review panel. The panel would hear concerns from faculty, staff and students.

Perone's group hopes to convince legislators and others that systemic change is needed to restore WVU's academic integrity, including new procedures for picking the president and provost.

Garrison says he's not going to resign.
