A traffic light at the intersection of Route 340 and Ladd Road that was damaged in an accident Thursday night was repaired and back in service Friday morning.

Drivers faced delays because of a three car accident Thursday night.

The Virginia Department of Transportation issued the following statement Friday morning after the light was repaired:

"The traffic signal at the intersection of Route 340 and Route 631 (Ladd Road) in the Waynesboro area of Augusta County is back in operation. Late last night the traffic signal control box was severely damaged from an accident occurring at this location.

"In the predawn hours today the Virginia Department of Transportation worked on securing a new signal box and installing it at this intersection. During the signal outage, VDOT erected signs for a temporary four-way stop for interim traffic control."
