Parents and kids in the Valley took advantage of a beautiful day to do some reading at James Madison University.

On Saturday afternoon, the WVPT Kids Book Festival featured several events for kids and their parents to get together and spend the day reading.

Kids also played games, had their faces painted, and even got to meet some of their favorite story book characters.

This was all hosted by organizations in the Valley to promote reading among kids, but the best part was that everything was free.
