While gas prices have gone up most noticeably, every other little cost associated with driving is going up, too. From oil changes to parking lot fees, sticker shock will make this summer even stickier.
Shell Oil subsidiary Jiffy Lube has seen its car count drop by roughly two percent in the last year as gas prices surge and new car technology gives drivers a better idea of when work needs to be done. That's according to a company marketing director.
But good drivers may notice some relief in their car insurance rates, which have either remained steady or fallen in many states for a variety of reasons. If high gasoline prices prompt less driving, accidents and insurance rates could drop further.
Parking costs have also gone up, though some garages are starting to lower prices again in order to keep customers.
